Longbridge was opened as an Evening Branch on August 20th 1920 and closed on June 10th 1921 when the 34 existing accounts
were transferred to Northfield branch.
The Deposit statistics suggest that an account was opened with a sum of about £500
in August 1920, and the amount withdrawn the following month. £500 would be worth approximately £4,500 at 1979 values.
A second
attempt to establish a branch (with Saturday opening) was made from November 8th 1924. By March 31st 1926, the branch had 174 Open
Accounts. This branch was closed on July 25th 1931 and accounts transferred to Northfield branch
