Head Office,

Broad Street,

Sir or Madam,                           November 1948.

Town and Country Planning Act, 1947.

I desire to draw attention to the above Act which provides that a claim for a payment may be made in respect of any interest in land (including any buildings on it or minerals in it), being a freehold or a leasehold interest if that interest has been depreciated in value by virtue of the Act.

This depreciation is likely to occur where property has potential value for development as this extra value no longer belongs to the owner of the property due to the provisions of the Act.

Owners of property, in their own interests should obtain an explanatory pamphlet (Form S.1.A) from the Offices of the Local Borough, County or District Council, and, if in doubt as to whether a claim should be submitted, should obtain professional advice.

Claims must be sent on a prescribed form, before the 31st March 1949, to the Central Land Board, Block 8, Viceroy Close, Bristol Road, Birmingham 5.

                                              Yours faithfully,

                                                           H. CARVER,

                                                           General Manager.
