Following the opening of the branch's 100th account in December 1924, the following landmarks were reached:

 - 500th account opened in May 1925;

 - 1000th account opened in February 1926;

 - 1500th account opened in January 1927;

 - 2000th account opened on September 6th 1927
The opening of Account Number 2000 for the Infant, Walter James Bradshaw, on Tuesday, September 6th 1927, was one of the first accounts opened after Witton became a full-time Daily Branch on Saturday, September 3rd 1927. At that latter date, the branch had 1,492 Open Accounts with total balances of £23,742.

With deposit balances of £43,506 at March 31st 1928, and the Bank earning an Interest Margin of 1.19%, the branch's income of £517 would have covered the staffing cost, but would have been insufficient to cover property and other costs. The growth of the deposit balances over subsequent years without a significant increase in staffing levels would gradually make the opening of Witton as a permanent branch a feasible proposition. In the mid-1920s, the Bank considered that a branch was financially viable when it had attained deposit balances of £80,000 - Witton reached that figure in July 1930.
