On Minute No 1320, the General Manager presented the following report with regard to the available use of land and buildings purchased for branch bank purposes:
Finance Sub-Committee: February 11th 1929
The General Manager reported that in connection with the painting contracts for the Ward End and Saltley Branches, Mr Councillor Spragg had again rendered considerable assistance, and has been instrumental in settling a suitable form of specification generally applicable to contracts for painting and decorating at the Branches.
299 RESOLVED:- That the Chairman of the General Committee be requested to express appreciation on behalf of the Bank Committee of the valuable service rendered by Mr Councillor Spragg in this connection.

General Purposes Sub-Committee: February 8th 1932
The following report of the General Manager was submitted as to the enlargement of Saltley Branch premises, together with a plan prepared by Mr W Norman Twist, Architect:
Enlargement of Saltley Branch.
Mr W Norman Twist, Architect, has prepared a plan for enlarging the above Bank premises so as to provide larger public space and increased counter and strong room accommodation.
The proposed alterations would give a counter run of 35ft, with a 19ft private office, and the strong room would be enlarged to 120 super:ft. The public space in front of the counter would be 10ft deep, and satisfactory lighting to the premises would be provided by sky-lights.
The alterations involve a fresh entrance to the flat, and a slight addition to the upstairs accommodation.
The estimated cost of the alterations is £1,750.
1736 RESOLVED:- That the General Committee be recommended to approve the above-mentioned plan and scheme for the enlargement of the Saltley Branch at an estimated cost of £1750 and to authorise that tenders be obtained for carrying out the work.
General Purposes Sub-Committee: February 15th 1932
Your Committee have had submitted to them a plan prepared by Mr Harold Scott for the enlargement of the Acocks Green Branch at an estimated cost of £1600, and a plan prepared by Mr W Norman Twist, Architect, for the enlargement of the Saltley Branch at an estimated cost of £1750.
Your Sub-Committee recommend that the plans (which will be submitted to the Meeting of your Committee), be approved and that the General Manager be instructed to obtain tenders for carrying out the works.

4327 RESOLVED:- That the plans submitted for the enlargement of the Acock's Green Branch at an
estimated cost of £1,600 and for the enlargement of the Saltley Branch at an estimated cost of £1,750, be approved; and that the General
Manager be instructed to obtain and submit to the General Purposes Sub-Committee tenders for the carrying out of the works.
Bank Committee: May 3rd 1932
Tenders for the extension of the Saltley Branch premises were received and considered, and it was:
4424 RESOLVED:- That the tender of Messrs R Fenwick Ltd, at a sum of £1,540 for the extension of the Saltley Branch to be accepted, the
work to be carried out within a period of five months; also that the Town Clerk be requested to prepare the necessary Contract, affixing

Bank Committee: August 23rd 1933
The Assistant General Manager submitted an account from Mr Twist which included a sum of 15 guineas in respect of alteration plans in connection with alterations to the premises at Saltley. It was explained that the plans originally submitted involved an infringement of right of light.
4866 RESOLVED:-
That Mr Twist be informed that the Committee will agree to pay 7½ guineas in respect of the alteration.
Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee: January 20th 1936
Arrears of Rent - Saltley Branch Flat.
Your Sub-Committee report that the former tenant of the Saltley Branch Flat owes £9. 16. 6. in respect of rent and water charges. The General Manager has been instructed to inform the former tenant that, unless the amount owing to the Bank is paid by Monday next, the Town Clerk will take the necessary steps for recovery.
In the event of the payment not being made they recommend that the Town Clerk be instructed to act accordingly.

5588 RESOLVED:- That the Town Clerk be instructed to take steps for the recovery of
the amount owing to the Bank in respect of rent by the former tenant of the Saltley Branch flat.

On Minute 5588 (Arrears of Rent - Saltley Branch Flat) - the Committee were informed that the arrears of rent owing by the former tenant had been paid and it was:
