The General Manager stated that, after consultation with Councillor Cooper, who had inspected the passage leading from the main road to the entrance to the flats attached to the Moseley Branch, he had asked the City Surveyor to make good the passage at as reasonable a cost as possible.

The Sub-Committee having considered the desirability of obtaining the redemption of Land Tax in respect of No 176 Alcester Road, Moseley, it was:

Redemption of Land Tax.
174, Alcester Road, Moseley.
I have to report that I have completed the redemption of the land tax (4s. 5d) on the above property. For the purpose of redemption the tax was assessed at 3s. 4d in the £, and on this basis the consideration money amounted to £4. 3. 4. This has been paid, and I have received the Certificate of Contract.
The property is exonerated from the charge as from the 24th June last.

559 The General Manager reported he had agreed to Mr C H Massey (a member of the staff) changing his residence from the Horse Fair flat
to one of the Moseley flats, and had asked Mr Wilde to procure a tenant for the Horse Fair flat.

The General Manager reported that the tenant of the Horse Fair flat had now moved into the Moseley flat leaving the Horse Fair flat vacant. An application had been received from a Mr Edwards for the tenancy of the Horse Fair flat, but the Sub-Committee were not satisfied with the credentials submitted and furthermore were of opinion that the flat should be tenanted by a Police Officer if possible. It was accordingly:
564 RESOLVED:- That the General Manager be directed to approach the
Divisional Superintendent of Police with a view to the occupation of the flat by a Police Officer.

I have to report that in accordance with the above Minute I have completed an Agreement for Tenancy of the flat at Harborne with Mr H J Eastens, for one year and thereafter quarterly, at a rent of £35 per annum.
With regard to the Moseley branch, included in this Minute, I understand that the tenant
is an employee of the Bank and arrangements as to his tenancy have been made direct.
