4209 The following report of the Finance Sub-Committee was presented:

 

Letting of Duddeston Flat.

 

Your Sub-Committee report that these premises were vacated on the 21st September and that arrangements have been made to let the premises to Mr John Robert Wilson for a period of three years at a rental of £35 per annum plus rates and internal repairs.

 

The Town Clerk has been instructed to enter into the necessary Tenancy Agreement and your Sub-Committee recommend that the action taken in the matter be confirmed.

 

4213   RESOLVED:- That the arrangements made to let the flat at the Duddeston Branch to Mr J R Wilson, for a period of three years at a rental of £35 per annum, plus rates and cost of internal repairs, be approved; and that the Town Clerk be instructed to prepare any necessary document, affixing the Corporate Seal thereto, if necessary.

On Minutes No 4213 the following report of the Town Clerk was received as to the letting of the flat at the Duddeston property:

Flat at Duddeston Branch.

 

I have to report that in accordance with the above Minute I have completed an Agreement for Tenancy of the above flat with Mr John Robert Wilson, for three years from the 29th September last at the rent of £35.

Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee: March 18th 1935

 

The tender of Messrs A Seers & Sons, Ltd at the sum of £21. 14. 0. has been accepted for painting and decorating at the Duddeston branch.

 

Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee: May 27th 1935

 

Arrangements have been made for the letting of the Duddeston Branch Flat to Mr J N Pickersgill for a period of 12 months certain at a rental of £35, the tenant to be responsible for rates.

Your Sub-Committee report that the following tender has been accepted for outside painting at Duddeston branch:

Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee: July 20th 1936

 

Your Sub-Committee recommend that the Town Clerk be instructed to take proceedings for recovery of the rent due from the former tenant of the Duddeston flat.

5790   RESOLVED:- That the following arrangements be approved for the letting of the flat at Duddeston branch:

 

Mr Frank Townsend, at £52 per annum, landlord to pay all outgoings. Tenancy to be for one year certain and determinable by quarterly notice, except Christmas.

The Committee were informed that the tenant of the Duddeston Branch flat had given up his tenancy although the agreement did not expire until September. After consideration it was:

 

5968  RESOLVED:- That subject to the condition of the premises being satisfactory no action be taken against the tenant and that arrangements be made to re-let the premises.

 

Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee: June 21st 1937

 

Letting of Duddeston Branch Flat.

 

Arrangements have been made to let the above mentioned flat on a weekly tenancy to Mr Thomas A Yates of 167, Scholefield Street, Nechells, at an inclusive rental of 20/- per week payable in advance. It is not proposed to enter into an Agreement in this case.

 

Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee: July 17th 1939

 

Tenancy of Duddeston Flat.

 

Arrangements have been made for the letting of this flat to Mr Leonard Oakes for a period of one year certain and thereafter determinable by quarterly notice, except at Christmas, at an inclusive rental of 20/6d. per week

 

Report of the Town Clerk: October 16th 1939

 

I have to report that I have completed an Agreement with Mr L Oakes for the tenancy of a flat at Duddeston for one year from the 24th June 1939 and thereafter quarterly at the annual rent of £53. 6. 0d. payable weekly.
