Your Sub-Committee report that the following tender for work at Billesley Branch has
been accepted:

The General Manager submitted tenders from the usual contractors for Bank fittings at Billesley Branch, which he had received from Mr H Scott (Architect). In addition, Mr Scott forwarded a tender from a Mr E Boyce of Dartmouth Street. The Sub-Committee were of opinion that it was undesirable to enlarge the list of tenderers already approved, and expressed the view that such tenders should be addressed to the Bank under seal, and dealt with in the usual way. After consideration it was:
420 RESOLVED:- That
the tender of Mr Richard Hunt at the sum of £219. 10. 0., (which was the lowest tender received from the usual contractors),
be accepted for the provision and fixing of fittings at the Billesley Branch.

The General Manager reported that an offer of £40 had been received for the temporary building formerly used for Bank purposes at Billesley.
3884 RESOLVED:- That the above-mentioned offer be accepted.
General Purposes Sub-Committee:
April 13th 1931
The Sub-Committee were informed that requests had been made by residents at Warstock for the establishment of the Branch Bank in this district, and a site had been offered to the Bank situate in Prince of Wales Lane, which was about nine-tenths of a mile from the Billesley Branch.
1654 RESOLVED:- That the General Manager be instructed to ask Mr Frank Wilde
to report on the matter and that if necessary a visit be made to the Warstock district by members of the Sub-Committee with a view
to a suitable site being ear-marked in the area for the future establishment of a branch bank.
General Purposes Sub-Committee:
May 11th 1931
On Minute No 1654 (Proposed site at Warstock), the Sub-Committee were informed that the District had been visited by the Chairman of the General Committee and the General Manager, with Mr Frank Wilde, and the latter had been directed to furnish a valuation of two dwellinghouses fronting Prince of Wales Lane, Warstock. After consideration of the valuer's report, the Sub-Committee were of opinion that the price asked for this property was too high, and that it would be preferable to acquire a suitable piece of vacant land for the building of premises when required, and it was accordingly:
1662 RESOLVED:- That the proposed
purchase of the two dwellinghouses be not entertained and the General Manager instructed to direct Mr Frank Wilde to continue his
enquiries regarding a site.
Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee: May 18th 1931
4095 The Committee were informed
that the price required for certain land in Prince of Wales Lane, which the Chairman and General Manager had instructed Mr Frank Wilde
to report upon was 15/- per square yard. The Committee examined the plan which accompanied the Report and on finding that the plan
which accompanied the Report and on finding that the set back for building purposes was so substantial, it was decided that no action
be taken in the matter of purchase.
General Purposes Sub-Committee: June 8th 1931
On Minutes Nos 1654 and 1662 (Proposed Site at Warstock) as it was considered that this was insufficiently developed to warrant a Branch of the Bank and it was:
1673 RESOLVED:- That no further action be taken at the present time to secure a site.
General Purposes Sub-Committee: July 13th 1931
The General Manager submitted a report from Mr Frank Wilde relating to certain land at the corner of Warstock Lane and Prince of Wales Lane which had been the subject of previous negotiations. The land had previously been offered at £1,250, but had now been offered at the sum of £1,050, the purchaser to come to terms with the Public Works Department as to land required for widening purposes. After consideration it was:
1699 RESOLVED:- That the General Manager be instructed to arrange for members of this Sub-Committee
to visit the site at a convenient time.
General Purposes Sub-Committee: October 12th 1931
On Minute No 1699 (Site at Warstock), the Sub-Committee were informed that the Vendors had pressed for an answer in reference to their offer to sell 1666 square yards of land at the price of £1,050.
The Chairman of the General Committee had considered the matter and rejected the offer.
1712 RESOLVED:- That the action of the Chairman be confirmed.

The Committee were informed of the following arrangement which had been made for the letting of the Billesley flat:
To Mrs E T Marsh, for three years from the 29th September 1933 at a rental of £40 per annum, to be responsible
for rates and internal repairs.
